I always believe that life is too short to not pursue your dreams, goals & ambitions. That’s what I’ve learnt over the last few years and that’s the main reason for me trying to become a filmmaker. My dream has always been to work in the Media industry and be able to take my work around the world. Travel is a huge part of my life and one of my life goals is to see as much of this amazing blue planet as I possibly can… And if one day I can, then maybe other planets.
Camera
All my life I have been interested in what goes on behind the scenes of a film/TV show. I have always had a fascination with the big professional cameras and the gear and with how they work. Since starting a USW Media Production course at Coleg Gwent, I am learning more and more about how to get the perfect picture and how to make an awesome film.
Editing
Piecing a film together bit by bit (especially one that I shot) is something I genuinely enjoy. Just watching all this footage become something incredible gives me such a great feeling. Call it magic if you will. its something I love to do and it also gives me an opportunity to let my creativity come to life.
Script Writing
Since Sept 2024, I have written over 80 pages of film scripts. It’s something I tend to do at around 3am and once I start, there’s no stopping me (except when I start seeing the sun rising. that normally makes me think that its about time I go to bed).
SWOT Analysis
Since starting Coleg Gwent (USW Course) in September 2024, I have learn’t so much about the film industry and have started developing a good number of skills. I have started to become familiar with the Davinci Resolve Editing Software, Sony PXW-FS5, Sony ZV-E10, Zoom H4N Pro Sound Recorder, RØDE NTG 2 Shotgun Microphone and so much more. My first year on the course has also kept me up to date with the DJI OSMO Gimbal & the DJI MAVIC AIR 2 Drone (Ensuring I obey local drone flying laws from the Civil Aviation Authority.).
I would like to learn more about Davinci Resolve & the more advanced professional film cameras. I am aiming to learn about the DJI RONIN Gimbals. This is something that would be invaluable in the industry.
My future plan is to work my way into the television industry with the dream of working for any of the major broadcasting companies. A personal dream of mine would be to take my filmmaking around the world, documenting the parts that people wouldn’t normally see on their typical holidays.
